My daughter saw this somewhere and asked Santa for it. Since I myself am a pretty big Olivia fan too I ordered it right away. It is a great concept with the 2 different playsets, but honestly I would have been happier if this had exclusively been just a house. The pieces are tiny..I would not let a small child around this. We bought the family to go along with it, and they are a bit big for it. But, my daughter is happy with it and that is what matters!

This is one of the cutest toys we have. We purchased this for our 4 year old daughter for Christmas after it was very difficult to find in stock at our local toy stores. We are very pleased with the house and our daughter loves it. I like that all the accessories fit inside the house when it is closed so we can keep them all together in one place. There is a sticker sheet that comes with the house for you to decorate the house as you wish, but our sticker sheet was NOT die cut....it was one big sticker with the individual images printed on it. So I spent the better part of 30 minutes cutting out each individual image with the sharpest scissors I could find so we could actually use the sticker sheet. Still, a very cute toy and I'm glad we bought it and expect to get many hours of fun out of it.

our four year old granddaughter was over the moon when she got it. she wanted to play with it right away, and continues to play with it. it's cleverly designed to convert from olivia's play house to olivia's pirate ship. she loves it!

Love this toy, but amazon.com is selling it for nearly twice the price of what you can get it for everywhere else... even the nationwide overpriced well known toy specialty store has it for $20 less. That's a BIG difference.
What is going on with amazon.com allowing this price gouging?

My daughter got this when she was 3 and it immediately became her favorite playhouse. It is about half the scale of Barbie dolls, so the figures included are too small for her to play with very well (and they need to be attached to the included bases to be able to stand up on their little piggy hooves). Still, even though it is half the scale of a Barbie she uses it with her Barbies, her Little People, her Weebles, and every other type of toy.
She likes that it has an upstairs and downstairs, that it's accessible from all around (without having to reach through windows or doors when she's around front as she does with a full-sized doll house, and that she can reverse it to have a pirate ship playset.
It doesn't have any bells and whistles, it doesn't make noise, and it doesn't vibrate itself around the floor (which is a blessing for parents) so your children will have to use more imagination than with many toys these days, but my daughter loves that she can create her own stories without feeling like she has to be limited to whatever lights or noises come pre-installed on some of her other toys.
My only complaint is that it can be pinch little fingers when it's being closed--not enough to draw blood, but enough to elicit a howl from a surprised toddler the first few times, until she gets used to closing it a few times. All in all, I recommend it.
