4Fun, but limited  Apr 08, 2011 By Jason Giles
First off, I'm not even close to a hardcore Madden fan. I am an NFL fan, but I play Madden as more of a casual player. I say that because some things that are dealbreakers to hardcore fans aren't much of a factor for me. This is not a deep game. Customization is almost nonexistant, and there's no Franchise mode. There's also no multiplayer, which is more important. In normal 11-on-11 games, there is often too much going on for the small screen when viewed in 3D mode.

5-on-5, however, is just plain fun. This is not a game to play for hours. For me, this is a game to pick up and spend 30 minutes playing a quick game or two. If your standards are much higher than that, you might want to wait for a future iteration of the franchise. In Pro difficulty, the game is super easy, so I found myself turning up the difficulty far quicker than I normally do.

Graphics are great for a handheld console. 3D doesn't add much more than a touch of depth, and there were a couple times when, in the process of quickly hitting a button to throw a pass, I moved the 3DS out of the optimal viewing angle and couldn't see what was going on for a moment. If you tend to move around more than a little when playing, go ahead and turn the 3D off.

The game is a strong 4 stars to me, a casual Madden player. If multiplayer or franchise was more important to me, it would be a weak 3.

5Plays All the Time  Feb 21, 2012 By Mel04
I got this game for my son's 6th birthday. Not knowing much about it I was afraid it might have been a bit too difficult for him but he loves football so I thought I'd give it a chance anyway and I'm so glad. He loves it, plays it all the time and really caught on to it fast.

5Great beginner game  Jan 13, 2012 By Shishir Vadhavkar
I bought this game for my 6 year old son who is majorly into Football, especially NFL. He has been glued to this since the day I bought it. He absolutely loves it. It is not overly complicated where you can let the DS control most of the play calling if you want to. At the same time, it does give you some control to call the plays, design your own routes, etc. if you want to. I think you can learn this at your own pace. Of course this is not for the serious gamer (or an aspiring NFL OC) but is just right for 6-8 year old boy learning the game and having some fun.

Definitely a must buy.
